The Kanzian was a Barrayaran warship assigned to the Sergyar Fleet. Some of her crew were involved in a smuggling operation involving theft of surplus military supplies, uncovered by ImpSec secret agent Byerly Vorrutyer. The ship was probably named after Admiral Kanzian, a space operations specialist in the Barrayaran Imperial Service during the time of Aral Vorkosigan's Regency.
