Terry was the aunt of Sarah McBride and sister to the late wife of Ryan McBride, Callie. She was very protective of Sarah, taking care of her at a Catholic school in New York. She was introduced when Ryan went to New York to inform Sarah that he was engaged to Megan Lewis. Terry had sued Ryan for custody after Callie was killed in a car accident and won custody of her. She was consistently trying to keep Ryan and Sarah apart. However, she tried to kidnap Sarah, but crashed into a telephone pole. They were saved by Ryan.
