The American Elephant is the last species of native American elephants. It is descended from a group of primitive gompotheres. It resembles an Asian elephant, but with an African elephant-like tusks & skin, and its lower jaw still has two extra tusks like its ancestors. It is about two times bigger than the African white rhinoceros. This species prefers the dry parts of the USA, including southern California, Nevada, etc.
