David 'Dave' Hollis was a jail keeper at Hambry prison. He was killed along with Herkimer Avery when Susan Delgado freed Roland, Cuthbert and Alain from the prison. His death was very upsetting to Susan, the one who shot him as they had been childhood friends. Most of the time he wore a brass-rimmed monocle and was one of the youngest members of the Hambry Sheriff's Department joining at the age of eighteen. He was dedicated to duty and wished to one day succeed Herkimer Avery as Sheriff and return the department back to a time when it was less corrupt and more competent.
