The 2016–17 season was Bolton Wanderers's first season in the third tier of English football since 1993 following their relegation from The Championship. Along with League One, the club also competed also compete in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Football League Trophy. It will cover the period from 1 July 2016 to June 30, 2017.
