The People of Faith are a Christian group which serves both as an antagonistic force and a scource of personal angst for individual characters in the House of Night series. They are portrayed as bigoted, misguided, self-righteous zealots and demagogues who believe that vampyrism is caused by misbehavior and that vampyres are the servants of Satan. It is their self-ascribed mission to persecute and "purify" vampyrism. Despite being founded on Christian values, the People are depicted as having poor character, including brainwashing, adultery, emotional abuse, and psychological manipulation.
