Weapons made out of alchemical silver bypass the damage reduction of lycanthropes, Undead and some Baatezu (ie, devils). Armor and shields cannot be made out of silver. Items without metal parts cannot be made from silver. A halberd could be made of silver, but a quarterstaff could not.
