Ruurese was the native language of the Ruurian species from Ruuria. It sounded like many other languages, and was generally considered an elegant tongue. While Ruurians has a wider range of vocalizations than most species, the Ruurese language did not, probably to make it easier for offworlders to learn. The written form of Ruurese used swirls drawn at varying angles, which made it difficult to learn or read. Most Ruurians were fluent in both Ruurese and Basic, being literate in both languages. Ruurians easily learned languages, so many of them were trilingual.
