Yvan Putnik was a Shop assassin who tried to kill Sam Fisher in the Beverly Center, but killed Katia Loenstern when she started to kiss Sam as the shot was fired. Putnik later gets to torture Fisher, but he puts up a struggle long enough for an attack by the Lucky Dragon Triad in China to attack the Communist base he is being held at. Fisher then escapes his restraints and beats Putnik with all his fury to avenge the death of Katia.
