In the Bible, Michael is the protector and defender of mankind and Heaven in the Old and New Testaments. In the Book of Revelations 12:7-9. There, it describes how there is a war in Heaven and that Michael and his warrior angels fought against The Serpent (Satan) and his rebellious angels until Satan was eventually defeated and was sent back underground along with his fallen angels.
