Arnold was assistant choreographer to Anita Mann for the TV series Solid Gold. She also choreographed the Christmas special The Man in the Santa Claus Suit (with Fred Astaire). She had previously danced on and off-Broadway, including the 1967 revival of Guys and Dolls and the musical version of The Man Who Came to Dinner, Sherry! (with Clive Revill).
