Carradale House is an 11 storey tower block on St Leonards Road in the Brownfield and Rowlett Estate estate in East London. The block is 37 metres (121 ft) tall with 11 floors, and contains 88 flats. Erno Goldfinger first submitted his proposals for the tower, then known as 'Rowlett Street Phase II', in 1963, and construction began in 1967 before being completed in 1970. It was designed to compliment the adjacent Balfron Tower, both of which inspired Goldfinger in his design of the iconic Trellick Tower. All the towers display his signature Brutalist style, featuring a separate lifts and staircase core connected to the flats element by sky-bridges at various intervals.
