ASL FC was founded in 1909 by Auguste Durand, a Swiss banker. It competed in the French leagues since then, consistently being in the middle and occasionally near the top, though it has not yet won. Originally most of Atlantic's players were Occitanian, but since the 1920s, many foreigners attacted to Occitania have played for the team. In 2006, billionaire Oliver Sanger purchased the team.
