For centuries, conflict was rife among Hupyrians and they became known for their guerilla warfare tactics. During the reign of Grand Nagus Oblat, the Hupyrian People's Unity Front attempted to seize Oblat's duridium mines as part of their planned liberation of the Hupyrian civilization from the Ferengi. Disturbed he would lose his lucrative mines, Oblat formed the Ferengi/Hupyrian Friendship Brigade. Few Ferengi joined the FHFB until Oblat announced that every recruit would receive a free can of the recently discovered Hupyrian beetle snuff every week.
