The dinosaurs in Saltasauridae were formerly included within Titanosauridae, but that group was renamed Titanosauria to allow the diverse branch of sauropods to be grouped more widely and accurately. Some, but not all, members of this family had armor-plated backs. As sauropods, saltasaurids were all Water Dinosaurs.
