To preserve the strict succession of the Vongola Famiglia Bosses and Guardians, the Vongola Rings were divided into half and split between the Outside Advisor (CEDEF boss) and the current Famiglia Boss; however, to do this, the power of the Rings' Flames had to be sacrificed to compensate this division, which meant that the normal Vongola Rings had less power than its Tri-ni-set counterparts.
