The RG721RW features an American basswood body with a rosewood top with abalone binding bolted to a Wizard Premium neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez CAP-VM humbucking pickups and a Tight End R fixed bridge. The RG721RWL is a left-handed version. The RG721 is a similar model with a sonokeling top which is sold only in Japan. A version with a flamed maple top, the RG721FM, was introduced in 2014. Another similar model with a birdseye maple fretboard and spalted maple top, the RG721MSM, was added for 2017.
