Matoro, the founder of the company, was a former Spartan II trainer on Reach, until Melinna-132 accidentally threw a grenade into her trench, which blew of the left side of her face, her left hand, and her left leg. This also blew off Melinna's right foot. Once it was announced Matoro was unable to train Spartan's anymore, she decided to take on her dream of owning a fast-food restaurant and becoming an entrepreneur.
