The Montana Nessie - also known as The Flat Head Lake Monster - is said to currently reside in Flathead Lake, a lake near Polson, Montana. This creature was first sighted by a lake steamer, the U.S. Grant, which was skippered by Captain James C. Kerr, in 1889. There were numerous unconfirmed sightings of the beast in the 1900s (1912, 1919, 1922-23, 1934, 1937, 1939), and it has been seen every decade since. To the right is a map of all the Montana Nessie sightings until 1994. The Montana Nessie had been described as a large serpent like creature with a length of 20 to 40 feet, and brown to blueish black in color. The witnesses say it has obvioius steel-black eyes and moves like an eel. If your visiting areas around Skidoo Bay, Polson Bay, The Narrows, or the west-shore road, keep your eyes
