The 2001 Virginia 500 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Martinsville Speedway on April 8, 2001. Dale Jarrett slid into the lead with just six laps to go, but drove away to a 1.355-second victory on Ricky Rudd, Jarrett's second straight victory. Jarrett also expanded his points lead, now 123 points on Jeff Gordon (12th). Stats
