As a child, Margaret, going by the name Peggy, helped the Third Doctor rescue an alien species that had been trapped in a graphaphone. Her husband was an American stockbroker in New York City. By November 1936, she had spent several years travelling in the United States of America. Richard strongly disliked her husband.
