Maris Becton was an officer in the Imperial Army. In 14 ABY, an initiative led by Grand Admiral Danik Kreldin and Grand Vizier Vassily Korolov saw many Army officers shifted to the Stormtrooper Corps, and Maris was one such officer. However, after an incident with a Royal Guardsman, Maethor Savage, who held a strong bias against females in the military, Becton was transferred to the Imperial Navy's security forces, where she serves aboard the HIMS Inquisitor.
