Fay Butler (née Grimshaw, previously Bailey) was the sister of Elsie Tanner. She is the mother of Gary Bailey, Bernard Butler, Sandra Butler and the aunt of Linda Cheveski and Dennis Tanner. During the Second World War, her childhood home of 18 Gas Street was bombed and her mother, father and eight of her siblings died. Fay has never appeared on the Street.
