Zu follows a predictable four-stage attack pattern. On the first two turns, it uses a physical attack. On the third turn, Zu's wings will glow and on its next turn it will use Sonic Boom, which hits all party members. While it may look intimidating due to its size and powerful attacks, it is weak to Darkness. When a Zu drops below one third of its maximum health, it will fall, landing on the ground. This renders it unable to use Sonic Boom. Flying Zus cannot be slain in one hit, unless from Zanmato or Doom. While airborne, it will always survive with 1 HP.
