By April 2007, a vibrant community of players had begun filling the Skyrates Forum with several posts that contained role-playing aspects as well as imagined theories of the History of Skytopia. As a sort of homage to these efforts, the Devs made several posts themselves, as well as created a few iconic characters to help "prepare" the players for another reset. The entire "reset event" became known as the Tortugan Upheaval.
