Dogs and jackals is an ancient Egyptian game where players race pieces around a board. The pieces are large pegs with a dog or a jackal head on top. The gameboard is a rectangular wooden box shaped like a four legged animal. The board is made of ivory carved with a palm tree and has fifty eight holes.
