Aang Giit was Batrian Jedi Master of the Ikolan Tribe, frequently referred to as an early Jedi Lord, who lived during the later years of the New Sith Wars. Aang was born an orphan, his father already dead and his mother dying in childbirth. Aang was raised by the Jedi Master Kaara Nivos, who also took him on as her apprentice. Aang received praise from Coruscant for his actions, although his lack of orthodoxy in certain aspects of Jedi life, especially with regards to personal attachments, meant that the High Council declined to offer him a seat.
