The Jedi Codices were ten volumes written between 36,463 BBY and 36,263 BBY by early members of the Je'daii Order. The first tome, The Book of Silence, was written by Kinel Skywalker, ancestor to Anakin and Luke Skywalker. Other volumes in the codices included The Book of Masters, which contained teachings written by Kinel Skywalker's twelve students; The Book of Light, which explained how to construct a lightsaber; and The Book of Eternity, which detailed the afterlife for all living beings.
