Beth was the deceased wife of Peter Burns and the sister of Taylor McBride. Beth only appeared in flashbacks and dream sequences, but her existence served as a catalyst for the demise of Peter's marriage to Amanda Woodward. While Beth was married to Peter, she was diagnosed with cancer. Peter stated she was slowly slipping away and begged for him to release her from her pain. Eventually, he honored her request and euthanized her. However, Taylor fixed it to make it look like suicide so Peter wouldn't got to jail.
