The Watertown Privateers are a minor professional hockey team in the Federal Hockey League based in Watertown, New York. The team began play for the FHL's inaugural 2010-11 season then known as Thousand Islands Privateers home games were played at the Bonnie Castle Recreation Center located in Alexandria Bay, New York. The team was relocated to Watertown, New York for the 2012-2013 season. The team was then renamed the Watertown Privateers prior to the start of the 2013-2014 season. The team now plays games out of the Watertown Municipal Arena. The owner of the franchise tried to find new local ownership for the franchise but was unable to do so. The franchise folded after the 2013-14 season. A local owner was found that was granted an expansion team to replace the Privateers for the 2014-
