Khaled Hosseini (Persian: خالد حسینی) (born March 4, 1965) is an author and physician. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan he has also lived in Paris and in Iran. His 2003 debut novel, The Kite Runner, is an international bestseller, published in 48 countries. His second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, was released on May 22, 2007.
