The Bloodwing was one of the colony ships that followed S'task from Vulcan in the Sundering. This ship was lost at 198 Eridani when that star turned into a black hole. (TOS - Rihannsu novel: The Romulan Way) Along with the other original ships to leave Vulcan, this name was frequently used when naming Romulan military vessels, one of them being the ChR Bloodwing, a Romulan cruiser in service in the 23rd century commanded by Ael i-Mhiessan t'Rllaillieu.
