The Jaghut matriarch was an ancient Jaghut female who was said to be the mother of the Icebloods and the other peoples of Assail. She was said to live high in the Salt Mountains guarding the heights. Her true name was not revealed. She had the "height and narrow build of a full-blooded Jaghut" and walked with a limp. Those people of Assail with Jaghut blood instinctively seemed to find her familiar. Timmel Orosenn, the Primogenatrix of Umryg, claimed the matriarch was her mother.
