The Katakana-class Battle Cruiser was a ship designed by the Mikaru Corporation in the time leading up to the formation of the Free Echani Alliance. The ship was based on CIS ship designs, leading to a long skeletal ship, with heavy armor plating. The ship was built to out class the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer but was out performed by the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer. In groups however they were incredibly deadly. They featured a special computer systems that allowed several units to combine their targeting programs to maximize firing potential.
