Penny occasionally used spells on this book on her granddaughters when they were young to keep them from misbehaving. The book eventually ended up in the attic when the sisters matured. The book was dug up again in 2004, when Penny wanted to cast a spell on Wyatt and Chris, her great-grandsons, to end their sibling rivalry. But the spell sent the rivalry to the next set of siblings—namely Piper, Phoebe and Paige. The spell was eventually reversed by Patty Halliwell, who used her own spell to undo it.
