In September 2006, Burley Design, LLC was purchased by a Eugene, Oregon, businessman. In attempts to alleviate the co-op's financial problems, production of bicycles, and apparel ceased on Friday, 6 September 2006. The company has turned their focus on Burley's line of child, adventure, and pet trailers, which has always been the foundation of the Burley Brand. A key ingredient to this new focus was to outsource a majority of the assemblies and labor, primarily to Mexico. In 2008 Burley celebrates 30 years of designing and manufacturing outdoor family products.
