An unidentified extra-galactic war was fought in a distant galaxy by Ship's species. They built giant mecho-organic vessels to fight each other, until only Ship remained. Ship then returned home, only to discover that its enemies had released a plague bomb, killing all sentient life and contaminating the planet. Fearing the plague, Ship fled its galaxy and drifted in the intergalactic void.
