Emerson Hill is one of the three larger hills that surround the main Whateley campus. Located towards the Northwest, it defines the "boys-only branch" of student housing: the hill is topped by Emerson Cottage, which houses exclusively boys who can pass for baseline humans, and beyond it lies Twain Cottage, which accepts also boys with more unusual appearances. Besides the bricked paths suitable for either pedestrians or vehicles, there's also a stairway towards the main campus. The tunnel linking Twain to the central campus passes beneath the hill.
