The Shadow of the Alliance was a purple nebula located within the Outer Rim Territories, near the Yavin system. This nebula owed its name to the Alliance to Restore the Republic, a loose alliance of factions united against the Galactic Empire. During the Galactic Civil War, the Shadow of the Alliance provided the Rebels with a cloak of tumultuous energy. Members of the Alliance hid in the nebula in hopes of dodging the attacks launched by the Empire.
