The tel was described as a massive, flat-topped hill, half a mile across and over thirty arm-spans high. The plateau was exposed to the wind and barren. The eastern side was a high cliff wall. Sanimon was part of an ancient network of five tels on the Geleen Plain linked by roads which also included Painemon, Jhemon, Tathimon and Uhlimon.
