Yellow Coins are coins found in Super Mario Sunshine. They help Mario refill his HP. If Mario collects 100 coins in one area (excluding Corona Mountain), he will recieve a Shine Sprite. One yellow coin obtained while talking to the Pianta on the roof in Delfino Plaza causes Mario to be chucked through the broken window with the Shine Sprite in it. There are at least 100 yellow coins in every level (excluding Corona Mountain) to collect. It is required to get all 100 yellow coin Shine Sprites in every level to beat the game 100%. If 50 yellow coins are collected, you will recieve a 1-up (extra life).
