Gaia Alerts is a system where Gaians can get alerts by e-mail or text when they receive new Private Messages, friend requests, profile comments, journal comments or when the site sends out new announcements. The system was released November 21 2007, and updated February 1 2008. Gaians can receive 1,000 Gold upon signing up for text alerts, 250 Gold upon signing up for e-mail alerts, and 50 Gold for each month still signed up for either feature.
