The town was unoficially founded in the late 19th century, with the settlement of norwegian citizens. The town has since grown and at it's maximum height in 2005, it had 11 people living there. It became officially a town the 4th of August, 2014 and Sigrid MacLean, one of the residents was appointed Magistrate of the town.
