Earth was a planet in the edge of the Wild Space. Until 18 BBY—2011 in the Terran calendar—it was quite isolated from the rest of the galaxy, but it was known that a science fiction franchise called "Star Wars" reflected the reality and situation of the rest of the galaxy at an almost documentary level. Around 18 BBY the planet was chosen due to be uninhabited as the destiny of the Exodus project, later the ships found out that it was inhabited by a human population with no hyperspace capable ships. By 22 ABY it had become the capital of the Coalition of free planets.
