Gold Ridge Valley is situated in northwestern Emelan, on its border to Gansar. The Dalburz Glacier is in its vicinity. Copper is mined in or near the valley. The last big forest fire the valley had was in 1005 KF. Ulmerin Valeward and Yarrun Firetamer had prevented any large forest fires by putting them out with magic until late 1035 KF. The valley had been experiencing a drought since 1032 KF. There have been grassfires for a while but in autumn that year the dry lands really caught fire. The fires then reached an extend where Yarrun couldn't stop them anymore, causing a large forest fire.
