A promising young actor in his '20s, Humphrey Coleman, is preparing himself for a play, A Man Named Jane, when he's told it is cancelled because of a new show called Encapsuled Ghosts! Live presented by a ghost-hunter named Webster Zameckis, who shows "ghosts" in capsules. Humphrey insists on continuing the play anyways, having it been the 5th time it had to be cancelled due to Encapsuled Ghosts! Live, but is told the play will instead happen tomorrow. Reluctantly, Humphrey storms out of the theatre and arrives in his apartment. In there, he finds a rope that he ties to form a noose, ties it to a air ceiling, and hangs himself. After days of disappearance, the police is able to find Humphrey's hanging body in his apartment, and confirm his death as a suicide.
