A securbar was a device used to open doors that had been locked down if an individual tripped a silent alarm by trying to access doors that were guarded by electronic beams. Electronic beams generally triggered the opening of a door, but if the beams were broken after authorized business hours, the doors would lock afterwards, trapping the intruders inside.
