Cloud Ale is named after the brewery in Port Blacksand where it is made, which in turn is named after the landlord of the pub in which the brewery is located, Doric Cloudscraper of The Hog and Frog inn. It was originally called Hog and Frog Ale until sales plummeted because of rumours over its ingredients. Some say that drinking ten mugs of Cloud Ale gives you the strength of a Hill Giant.
