The Hush was a custom chassis built by E-One Inc.. The Hush was first introduced in 1985 as a rear-engine model. The rear engine configuration enabled a quieter cab (hence the name) and additional space, which in turn meant that firefighters rode inside the truck instead of on the rear step. The Hush engine setup was later offered on other E-One custom cabs like the Cyclone II, Quest and Typhoon until 2011. A mid-engine version was also available from 2011 to 2015.
