The lich is the fifth tier unit of the Necromancer faction in Heroes of Might and Magic II, recruited by building a mausoleum. The only ranged unit of the Necromancer faction, they are quite powerful, with their ranged attack affecting the target and every unit in an adjacent hex to the hex attacked. Because of this, liches must be used carefully, as their ranged attacks can also damage allies. They are best used against large groupings of enemies in order to deal as much damage to enemies as possible.
